The four kits listed below are recommended as introductory projects as they can be completed in a day. Each kit includes the frame, enough twill tape to cover all the bars, your choice of fabric and trims. The 4" fringe (on the Hilda it is 3" fringe) is doubled to give a full, rich look to the finished product. You can substitute beaded fringe for the chainette fringe, or add an extra layer of beaded fringe on top.
K189 - Medium Bluebell
     This shade is a great beginning project and looks good on almost any base. It is an eight sided shade which is 8" high and 12" in diameter. The cost of the kit is

     This shade is a little trickier but still a good introductory project. It is shown here embellished with scallop pearl trim on all four sides. The shade is 9" high and 10" in diameter. The cost of the kit is

K237 - Small Hilda
     This is the simplest shade to complete in a day.It is oval and fits nicely in a narrower space. The shade is 9" high, 12" wide and 5" deep.The cost of the kit is

     Following are some examples of kits using our frames. These samples have been chosen to demonstrate the variety of techniques and combinations which you can incorporate into your own lampshade design.

K111a - Mini Polo
     This small shade features the use of decals and glassing in the eight small windows around the bottom.
K155 - Crown Jewel
     This kit comes in several sizes and features fan shirring and a lace overlay. Fan shirring also works well in the V shape openings.
K156r - Mini Margaret
     This small kit shows vertical shirring with decals and glassing.		 K172d - Antique Square
     This square shade which comes in a variety of sizes (as well as a bridge shade) features appliques and rosettes on a plain satin fabric background.
K226a - Duchess
     Again this kit comes in several sizes. It features side-by-side shirring with arched rose decals and glassing on the lower windows. Side-by-side shirring works well on shades with strongly indented side (see the Queen Anne for another example)		 K113a - Antique
     This kit comes in several sizes. This version features georgette rosettes alternating with a lace overlay in the bottom windows.
K149a - Queen Victoria
     This kit has it all! It features rosettes in the large windows, two layers of fringe - 6" and 4" as well as a pearl scallop overlay.		 K186 - Windsor
     This shade shows the addition of some simple hand beading to accent the curves of the shade.
K303 - Lady Gray
     This shade shows the use of the topper to change the look and dimension of the original frame. Toppers can easily be added to many frames.		 K118 - Pocket Antique
     This unique frame features a recessed bottom pocket adorned with a small georgette rosette and side by side shirring.
